Same Quality in Every Lot

Colorex renk yönetimi — spektrofotometrik analiz

World-Class Color Management

At Colorex, with our vision of world-class production, we treat color in the plastics industry not merely as a visual parameter, but as a mathematical and physical science that must be controlled with strict tolerances. By completely eliminating the margin of human error in pigment dispersion within the polymer matrix, we place it on a digital and optical foundation with the goal of zero deviation in every production lot.

Spectrophotometric Analysis and Digital Accuracy

Color perception is a subjective concept that varies depending on ambient light, reflection angle, and the observer. To eliminate this subjectivity and obtain objective data at global standards, advanced Konica Minolta spectrophotometers are utilized in our laboratories. Samples taken from every masterbatch lot we produce are subjected to spectrophotometric analysis. By reading the wavelength of light reflected from the sample with nanometer precision, our device converts the color into a numerical code, namely the three-dimensional CIELAB color space coordinates.

Thanks to this digital analysis, the total color difference between the targeted reference color and the produced lot is calculated spectrophotometrically. When calculating the Delta E value, which represents color deviation, we reach a completely numerical and precise result by taking the square root of the sum of the squares of the mathematical differences in the lightness, red-green, and yellow-blue axes between the reference color and the sample.

Our production commitment is to keep this calculated Delta E deviation value within the lowest tolerance limits at world standards demanded by global industries requiring high precision. No new lot can receive quality control approval without perfectly matching the digital reference master data in the system.

Metamerism Control with Light Booths

Following spectrophotometric approval, the optical behaviors that polymer products will exhibit in different environments are also physically tested. To reduce the risk of metamerism—the phenomenon where a color is perceived differently under varying light sources—to zero, light booths compliant with international standards are used. Our samples are subjected to cross-checks under standard daylight, store lighting, incandescent light, and UV sources, guaranteeing that they exhibit the same optical stability anywhere in the world.

Mechanical Performance and Uninterrupted Production Guarantee

Colorex quality is not limited solely to optical perfection but also encompasses the physical durability of the plastic product and the efficiency of the production processes. All raw materials entering the production line undergo precise moisture and purity analyses in our incoming quality control laboratories. Thanks to the Filter Pressure Value (FPV) measured by our advanced testing equipment, the flawless dispersion of pigments within the polymer matrix is proven, definitively preventing issues such as screen clogging or film tearing that could occur in our customers' machines.

Furthermore, the thermal stability of the product is regularly measured through Melt Flow Index (MFI) tests conducted for every lot. This ensures that our masterbatches provide a standard and highly efficient production experience in injection or film extrusion lines without disrupting the customer's machine parameters.

Traceability and Our Production Infrastructure

Thanks to our world-class precise gravimetric dosing technology and our twin-screw extruder infrastructure that provides optimum dispersion, the spectrophotometric data of every produced lot is recorded with the principle of retrospective traceability. The color, gloss, and opacity values between the first lot and the hundredth lot produced by Colorex are proven under laboratory conditions to be exactly the same. Our reliability stems from this absolute numerical precision we provide.
